Current project: Championing equity for black professionals and students.  Recent recognition: Black History Month Panelist for Buck’s Black Leadership Council Event; featured Women’s History Month Leader and Project Management Professional Spotlight at Centene.  Recent professional development: Joined Chief, a private women executive leader network.  Latest accomplishment: Cultivating a vibrant work environment supporting everyone’s success and establishing compelling future vision and strategy for my organization, in less than a year under my leadership.  Latest contribution to others: Serving on three boards, giving my time, talents and treasures generously and prioritizing mentoring and supporting the personal and professional elevation of others.  Hobbies: Singing, dancing, traveling and roller skating.  Recent unique acquisition: Original African paintings by Ricardo “Lion” Molina; Cuban artists.

How do you define an ideal business relationship? Respectful, mutually beneficial and rewarding.  What is your greatest joy? My marriage.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Building Career Equity, by Jan Torrisi-Mokwa.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? The Color Purple.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Family photos and artwork.  What world event has had the greatest influence on your life? The first U.S. black President and First Lady.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Equity for black female leaders.

What change would you like to see in the world? Dismantling of systemic power structures of oppression.  What mega-trend most concerns you? Weaponization of political offices.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Unapologetically Me: Your Permission Not Necessary.  What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Regina King.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? My grandfather, Fred Carter.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? An actress.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? With my husband, Drummond, at home snuggling in our bed.
