Current project: We just received a large state grant to help build our next elementary school. Latest accomplishment: Our district acquired one of the Governor’s Lab Schools in Virginia, the Isle Maritime Trades Academy. Both individuals make the other feel valued and encourage one another to be their best. What is your greatest joy? My family (wife and daughters). What is your greatest fear? Not having enough time to complete all the things that are important to me. What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Any that serves those less fortunate. What is your favorite place (or way) to spend money? Any place where I can spend quality time with my family. What is at the top of your bucket list? Starting a nonprofit to help others. How do you relieve stress? Reading, meditating, or watching sports.
What was your first paying job? Working in a textile factory. What was your favorite childhood toy or game? Playing basketball and football with my cousins and neighborhood friends. My church members growing up, teachers, and extended family. What’s the best advice you received growing up? Treat others the way you want to be treated. What is your favorite app? Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Jesus. As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? An architect. After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? Items with sentimental value (pictures, diplomas, etc.). How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? With the people I love. What advice would you give your younger self? Start investing early.
