Current project: Building the diversity and inclusion strategic program and dream team.  Recent recognition: Listed in Marquis Who’s Who.  Latest accomplishment: Becoming a member of Chief, a private network built to drive more women into positions of power and keep them there. Hobbies: Traveling, shopping, reading; sitting on my front porch while appreciating nature.  Last book read: The Bible.  Recently viewed and recommended: All Rise, an exciting and relevant courtroom drama series to watch on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).  Recent unique acquisition: A beautifully decorated set of ceramic Thanksgiving plates.

Personality profile: Direct, authentic, quirky; thinker and planner.  Moral compass: My core – my faith, family and integrity.  How do you define a perfect friendship? A relationship built on open communication, transparency, dependability and support, sprinkled with laughter and a desire to have fun.  What is your guilty pleasure? Reality TV shows, e.g., Housewives series and Love & Marriage Huntsville; Food Network and HGTV shows.  

What three emojis best describe you? 💜🌮🙏.

What is at the top of your bucket list? Travel, travel and more travel.  How do you relieve stress? Meditation, breathing exercises, prayer, burning candles; taking in the sounds of nature. What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? White sandy beaches.

What was your first paying job? Worked as a legal secretary.  What was your favorite college course? Calculus.  What was your favorite childhood toy or game? Jacks.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Black art/masks and my dream board.  Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? Mrs. Carole Dyas, my Scholar English teacher in high school.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? Always tell the truth.  What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? GPS.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? To intentionally build a solid foundation for a thriving and impactful, diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible work culture that is second to none.  What change would you like to see in the world? A level playing field.  Justice and equity for all, especially for those underrepresented.  What message do you want to send out into the world? Global climate change is real.  What widely held belief do you reject? That we are all treated equally, with the same opportunities and resources.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Living Her Best Life: Obstacles Overcome.  What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Viola Davis. Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Jesus, as well as my dad, who passed away May 2022.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A teacher.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Celebrating life with family and close friends while praising, dining, laughing, shedding happy tears, playing music and spending quality time together in my home.  What advice would you give your younger self? Relax.  Breathe.  It’s going to be better than you ever imagined!  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? None.  I appreciate the value of being present.

Personal mission: Time is short.  Know thyself.  Love on family and friends.  Breathe, relax, help others and live your best life!  Personal motto: Always treat others with dignity and respect. Favorite quote: “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” (Vicki Corona).  Desired epitaph: Wife, Daughter, Mother, Sister, Gigi and Friend.  She came and conquered.  Forever in praise and joy!
