Leaving the corporate world at 28 years old to start my own wealth advisory firm. Hobbies: Golf, skiing, and scuba diving. Get me anywhere outside, and I’m basically happy! Recent travel or adventure: Staying in the jungle of Belize and diving the Great Blue Hole.
How do you define an ideal business relationship? Loyalty, respect, and a lot of curiosity. What is your greatest joy? Feeling and hearing a pure golf shot. What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Teachers. They are critically important and they do it for the love of the kids. What is your favorite place (or way) to spend money? Adventure vacations. What is at the top of your bucket list? Running the Boston Marathon. What is your go-to workout? Very hot yoga. It’s an amazing sweat, and I walk out feeling like Gumby. What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? Water, whether floating, swimming, or skiing on it.
What was your first paying job? Dockhand, and it’s still the best job I’ve ever had. What was your favorite college course? Art History. What was your favorite childhood toy or game? Basketball. I loved to play it, watch it, and think about it. What book have you repeatedly read? The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Short, simple, and impactful. What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? An abstract painting of a wave breaking at either sunrise or sunset. What’s the best advice you received in your career? Work for yourself and control your own destiny. What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? Starting a finance business as the Great Financial Crisis erupted. Retirement. I believe there’s only financial independence and then freely choosing how you’d like to spend your time.

Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Harry Truman. As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? Larry Bird, although I did not want to grow up in French Lick. After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? My father’s watch, given to him for the celebration of Chevrolet’s 75th anniversary. How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? On the boat with my wife and kids from sunrise to sunset.
