Current project: Co-president and co-founder of the Cellarmaster of South Florida, started in 1989.  Latest accomplishment: Enrolled in ongoing bonsai classes and joined the Broward and Gold Coast Bonsai societies.  What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Joined a local chapter of Toastmasters International, to overcome my fear of public speaking.  Hobbies: Listening to classical music, reading, working on bonsai trees, roasting coffee, photography.  Recent travel or adventure: Family trip to Portugal: Lisbon, Porto, Douro.  Last book read: Churchill: A Life, by Martin Gilbert.  Recent unique acquisition: An ice cream machine, to create healthy versions of the dessert.

Personality profile: Empathetic, witty, analytical.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Over-trusting.  Moral compass: The Ten Commandments.  What is your greatest joy? Sharing holiday meals with my family.  What is your greatest fear? I will not accomplish everything I was placed on this earth to do.  What is your guilty pleasure? Preparing the perfect meal with the perfect wines.  What natural talent have you neglected? Recently, photography.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? A military soldier, whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve.

What was your first paying job? Painting fire escapes.  What was your favorite college course? Experimental Psychology.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? My diplomas, board certifications, and hospital board recognitions.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? The three As of a medical career: ability, availability and affability.

What change would you like to see in the world?

Children are taught to respect and appreciate all individuals, regardless of differences.

What message do you want to send out into the world? You must be willing to fail in order to achieve your full potential in life.  What widely held belief do you reject? That people cannot fundamentally change.

Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Moses.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? I have wanted to be a doctor since the 6th grade.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? Family photos.  What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t be afraid to take risks when you are young, but remember time moves faster than you think.  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? My wedding day.
