Joining two engineering firms as CEO from the outside. Hobbies: Spending quality time with my family, watching college and pro football, playing golf and pickleball, yard work and fishing. My father was diagnosed with cancer at 45 years old. I want to live to 100. So, illness. What natural talent have you neglected? Playing my guitar. What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Anyone who is naturally entrepreneurial. What is your favorite place (or way) to spend money? With my family, having fun. What is at the top of your bucket list? A trip to Hawaii with my family.
What was your first paying job? Selling seeds (yes seeds), door-to-door in my neighborhood as a kid. What book have you repeatedly read? All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, by Robert Fulghum. Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? My kids, who are the joys of my life and with whom I have always had tremendous fun! What’s the best advice you received growing up? Be yourself. What’s the best advice you received in your career? Keep learning. What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? My dad being diagnosed with cancer when I was a teenager.
