Current project: Assisting communities with restoring brownfield sites.  Recent recognition: Acknowledged for participation and collaboration with the NJDEP, CIANJ, and CCNJ.  Recent professional development: Joined GES as director of business development.  What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Purchased rental properties and became a landlord.  Hobbies: Coaching youth sports, riding bicycles, fishing, golfing, cooking on the BBQ.  Recent travel or adventure: Disney World to recognize our sons’ academic achievements and my son’s resilience in overcoming pneumonia.  Last book read: The Challenger Sale, by Matthew Dixon and Brent Adamson.

How do you define a perfect friendship? Mutual trust and support, through both good times and bad.  How do you define an ideal business relationship? Transparency, clear communication, and a forward-thinking approach for success.  What is your greatest joy? My wife, Laurie, and our sons, Matthew Jr. and Anthony.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? First Responders.  What is your favorite place (or way) to spend money? Adventures, traveling with my family.  How do you relieve stress? Exercising and praying.  What is your go-to workout? Riding a bicycle.

What movie have you repeatedly watched? Field of Dreams.  Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? My sister Erin, my Freemason Lodge brothers, and the sales leaders I’ve had the privilege of working with.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? Avoid people with negative energy who can drain your time and resources.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Keep emotions out of difficult conversations and focus on the facts.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? Walking in the woods and wilderness. What company or organization do you most admire? Companies that take initiative to reduce pollution.  What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? I lost my father when he was just 66, and I miss him deeply.

What is your big idea?

Develop a biodegradable material that can replace plastic and cardboard.

What change would you like to see in the world? Less waste and pollution.  What message do you want to send out into the world? Everyone has bad days and makes mistakes; be kind to others.  What mega-trend most excites you? Artificial intelligence, which also concerns me.

What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Tom Hardy.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? My father, Edward Corley.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A professional football player.  What advice would you give your younger self? Keep your head up, everything is going to be alright.  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? Birth of my sons.

Personal mission: Spread love, support, and positive energy throughout my community.  Personal motto: Hurry up and fail. Try your best, it’s ok to make mistakes.  Desired epitaph: Beloved family man.  He lived fully, laughed wholeheartedly, and embraced life to the fullest.
