Current project: Planning my next project.  Latest accomplishment: Invested in a third angel fund for women-led startups.  Latest contribution to others: Donation to Ohio Physicians for Reproductive Rights.  What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Leaving my day job to chase dreams.  Hobbies: Getting more serious about swim workouts.  Last book read: The Nazi Conspiracy, by Brad Meltzer.  Recent unique acquisition: Heartland, a commissioned painting by Gina Beavers.

Personality profile: Futuristic; gotta have a plan for what’s next.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Competitive.  Moral compass: Be truthful.  What is your guilty pleasure? Dark chocolate.  What natural talent have you neglected? Languages.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Nursing, K-12 teachers.  How do you relieve stress? Exercise.  What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? The right accommodation.

What was your favorite college course? Film Syntax & Analysis.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? The Godfather.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Colorful art.  Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? Aunt Loretta Juhas, as well as dear friends and mentors Laszlo and Vera Adler.  What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? Bioinspired approach to engineering, design and problem solving.  What is your favorite app? Google Translate.  What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? Marriage.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? 

Proportional representation of women and people of color across all engineering disciplines

What change would you like to see in the world? More tolerance of difference.  What widely held belief do you reject? That climate change cannot be reversed.  What mega-trend most excites you? Progress toward permanent storage of nuclear waste.  What mega-trend most concerns you? The rapid contagion of social media’s dark side.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Sometimes She Gets the Joke.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Abraham Lincoln.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A physician.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? Nothing.  What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t take life so seriously.  What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? Accept an invitation to spend a summer in Italy between 7th & 8th grade (I declined).
