Current project: Launching an assertive political and media campaign.  Recent recognition: Being invited to mentor business students at a regional liberal arts college.  Latest accomplishment: Invited to become a life member of the prestigious Union League of Philadelphia.  Latest contribution to others: Contribution to the Centennial Campaign for Colonial Williamsburg.  What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Leaving the practice of law and becoming the CEO of a recycling and waste transportation company.  Hobbies: Nature walks, working out, reading, and viewing sports of all kinds.  Last book read: America’s Constitution: A Biography, by Akhil Reed Amar.

Personality profile: Intuitive, decisive, versatile.  How do you define a perfect friendship? Laughter flows effortlessly, silence feels comforting, and trust is unwavering.  How do you define an ideal business relationship? Mutual benefit and shared goals; built on creating value for both sides.  What is your greatest joy? My granddaughter.  What is your greatest fear? That life for our children and grandchild will not be a good as ours was.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Surgical oncology.  How do you relieve stress? Exercise, especially walks in nature.

What was your favorite college course? Comparative Political Systems.  What book have you repeatedly read? The Killer Angels: A Novel of the Civil War, by Jeff Shaara.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? The Godfather.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Prints by Mort Künstler, a renowned American artist.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? A person must leave the world a little better place than they found it.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? Nature and movement.  What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? My spouse’s battle with cancer.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Utilizing cliodynamics.

What message do you want to send out into the world? Choose kindness over division, compassion over indifference, and action over complacency.  What mega-trend most excites you? The study of quantum physics.  What mega-trend most concerns you? Artificial intelligence.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Lucky Man.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Jesus Christ.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A soldier.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? A picture of my granddaughter.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? In quiet contemplation and gratitude for my good fortune.
