Current project: Increasing access to interpreter services in health care delivery.  Latest accomplishment: Co-chairing a national diversity, equity and inclusion task force for nursing. Latest contribution to others: Led a drive to collect personal hygiene products for the community from the C-Suite at my organization.  The foundation got on it as well and contributed. What’s  been your big (or biggest) leap? Becoming the VP in my organization.  I knew I was capable, but never aspired for the title; I just wanted the opportunity to do the work.  The title I have is aligned with the type of work that I wanted and felt most called to do.  Hobbies: Creating, reading, and dance.  Recent travel or adventure: Taking my teen daughter to a concert.  That will remind you of your age fast!  Recently viewed and recommended: The Maid.  Recent unique acquisition: The reMarkable Tablet.  I'm sort of a geek about gadgets and this one cuts down on paper.

Personality profile: Persistent, studious, entertaining.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? WOW!  How do you define a perfect friendship? Reciprocal.  How do you define an ideal business relationship? Honest.  What is your greatest joy? My family. What is your greatest fear? I don't have a spirit of fear, but if I did, it would be failure.  What natural talent have you neglected? Singing.  I'm taking lessons now to fix this.  How do you relieve stress? Prayer, meditation, walking among the trees.  What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? Sun and beach.  What is your go-to workout? Walking.

What’s featured prominently on your home or office wall? Pictures of my kids.  What is your go-to source of news and information? NPR Up First, Harvard Business Review, Flipboard app and my husband (he loves politics, history, and nature).  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? My husband says, my brain.  My podcast is called, "I Been Thinkin’'".  My brain goes a hundred miles an hour, taking in the beauty and the suffering around me, and my desire to make a difference.  What company or organization do you most admire? Those that help the oppressed and overlooked.  What world event has had the greatest influence on your life? Having a stroke when I was 36 years old and major brain surgery. That taught me how to start living.  

What is your big idea?

Make coaching and workforce development accessible to the working class.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? Diversifying the workforce in healthcare.  What change would you like to see in the world? Accessible and affordable healthcare for all cultures.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? She Got Up Again and Again.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? My dad.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? On the beach with my family.
