Latest accomplishment: Getting promoted to Global Product Manager.  What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Transitioning from engineering to business/marketing when I pursued my MBA. Hobbies: Tennis, fly fishing, hiking/backpacking, motorcycle riding, anything outdoors.  Recent travel or adventure: Biking across Croatia from Dubrovnik to Split.  Last book read: A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini.  Recently viewed and recommended: Ologies, a podcast by Alie Ward.

Personality profile: Creative, analytical, hardworking, humorous, strategic.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Driven.  Moral compass: Do the right thing, not the easy thing.  What is your greatest joy? Spending time with family and friends.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Nurses, doctors, EMTs, social workers, teachers, firefighters.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Scuba diving the Sardine Run off the coast of South Africa.  How do you relieve stress? Meditation, exercise, fresh air, and deep breaths.  What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? Enough time to actually relax and enjoy the vacation.

What was your first paying job? Lifeguard.  What was your favorite college course? Medical Device Assessment and Development.  What was your favorite childhood toy or game? I was (and am) a big fan of puzzles.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Illustrations of the several national parks I have visited.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? You can’t always be the smartest person in the room, but make sure to always be the person who works the hardest.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Be so good they can’t ignore you.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Improve patient outcomes and increase people’s quality of life.

What change would you like to see in the world? People becoming more invested in their own health.  What mega-trend most excites you? Gene editing and its incredible potential to treat and cure numerous diseases.  What mega-trend most concerns you? The decrease in critical-thinking skills that comes with the growing reliance on AI.

As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? Batman.  After that, a doctor.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? Photo albums and other sentimental items.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Spending time with my family and close friends, laughing and reminiscing. What advice would you give your younger self? Stop and smell the roses more.  Life passes by increasingly quickly, so enjoy the moments you are in and the people you are with dearly.  What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? My time during my MBA program.
