Isabella Ganas

Home: Brooklyn, NY.  Age: 25.  Birthplace: New Jersey.  Profession: Technology, business development.  Languages spoken: English, Spanish.

What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Transitioning from the advertising and media space into the data and AI world.  Hobbies: Cooking, baking, experimenting with global cuisines, vintage clothing, photography.  Recent travel or adventure: Bariloche, Argentina.  Last book read: Bad Feminist, by Roxane Gay.  Recently viewed and recommended: The German series Dark (Netflix). Recent unique acquisition: My Nona’s old cookbook, recently re-discovered.  Also, a collection of old family VHS tapes which I have now digitized.

Personality profile: INFP: introverted, intuitive, feeling, prospecting.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Empathetic.  Moral compass: My intuition and my gut. How do you define a perfect friendship? Rooted in mutual understanding and acceptance, effortless, supportive and able to withstand distance or time.  The kind of bond that remains constant no matter what life looks like.  What is your guilty pleasure? Sweet treats.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Therapists, for their patience, empathy and emotional intelligence, as well as for the impact they have on people’s lives.  What is your favorite place (or way) to spend money? Furniture and décor for my apartment.  What is your go-to workout? HIIT classes at my gym, Pilates.

What was your first paying job? Delivery girl for my local pizza restaurant.  What book have you repeatedly read? The Defining Decade, by Meg Jay.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? 13 Going on 30.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A picture of my first dog.

What’s the best advice you received in your career? Clarity comes from action, not from waiting. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to do, you just need to start somewhere, stay open, and let your experiences guide you toward the right path.  What is your favorite app? Food delivery apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? Pinterest and people watching in New York City.

What is your big idea?

A more community-driven approach to cooking; a platform where people can share recipes, exchange feedback, and build on each other’s ideas. Rather than static recipes, it would encourage collaboration through reviews, adaptations, and shared experiences, making cooking feel more interactive and accessible.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? Shifting the conversation around AI toward how it can be used as a tool to support better decision-making rather than to replace people.  What mega-trend most concerns you? The growing impact of social media on attention spans and how we interact with one another.

As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A ballerina.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? My childhood stuffed animal.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Playing board games with my family.  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? The day I met my partner.
