Founding TerraCare Energy to tackle the clean energy transition head-on.  Hobbies: Cooking, gardening, photography and reading.  Recent travel or adventure: Visiting the US Space & Rocket Center and NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.  Last book read: Speed & Scale, by John Doerr.

Trust, transparent communication, and aligned values, a shared commitment to creating long-term impact.  What is your greatest joy? Tackling big world problems with curiosity and purpose.  What word or phrase do you use far too often? Imagine if we could…. What natural talent have you neglected? Sketching and drawing, something I loved as a kid.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Wildlife conservationists.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Antarctica to study its fragile ecosystems and see the impact of climate change firsthand.

What was your first paying job? Helping a census officer map our town.   What was your favorite college course? Machining and Operations.  What book have you repeatedly read? The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A LEGO world map.  Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? Mahatma Gandhi.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Don’t just solve problems; choose the problems worth solving.  What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? Quantum computing.

What is your big idea? A global initiative to ensure equitable access to clean, reliable, and affordable power.   What change would you like to see in the world? A world where clean energy is the default everywhere.  What widely held belief do you reject? Solving climate change means sacrificing economic growth.  What mega-trend most excites you? The convergence of clean energy, AI, and advanced materials.  What mega-trend most concerns you? The growing gap between technological advancement and equitable access.

Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Leonardo da Vinci.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? An astronaut.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? With family and close friends, somewhere by the ocean, sharing great food, laughter and stories.  What advice would you give your younger self? Take care of your mind and heart.  Staying whole will let you give more to others and go further in your journey.  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? The day I proposed to my partner.  What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? My early twenties.  I would take more risks and seek out diverse experiences sooner.
