Current project: Learning more about DEI; readling Leading Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, by Rohini Anand.  Recent recognition:  Received a very kind thank you note from a direct report on Thanksgiving.  Thanking others is the greatest gift and very underused!  Also, thanks to my husband’s passionate hobby, we were in the top ten Halloween displays in RI for the 3rd year in a row.  Recent professional development: Joining Chief, where I recently heard Michelle Obama, Adam Grant and Sara Blakely speak!  They are ALL so  inspirational and humble! Latest accomplishment: Surviving 2021, the toughest year in recruiting history!  Latest contribution to others: Nominated and selected to Leadership Rhode Island to work on a state wide DEI workforce project.  Hobbies: Yoga, working out, wine, wineries; meeting up with friends, traveling, golfing.  Recent travel or adventure: NYC for 24 hours; Las Vegas with a bestie to see Lady Gaga; hiking in Phoenix; Key West jet skiing for the first time.  Last book read: The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, by Patrick Lencioni.  Recently viewed and recommended: Ted Lasso – such a feel good!  And Yellowstone!

Personality profile: Positive, strategic.  Extrovert Gemini, people lover, communicator, talent hunter, advocate for all people.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Supportive (and "shows up").  Moral compass: Integrity.  What is your greatest fear? Violence, terrorism.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Analytics.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Retire to a warm weather state!  Travel to a new country!  Try new foods!  How do you relieve stress? Recently tried Lagree and boxing!  What is your go-to workout? Yoga, still mastering the headstand.

What book have you repeatedly read? Little Women.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? Elf.  What’s featured prominently on your office wall? Master’s diploma.  Who has had the greatest influence on your life? My grandmother, who talked to anyone about anything. What is the best advice you received growing up? Treat others as you would want to be treated; be bold in your life.  What is the best advice you received in your career? Take care of your people and the rest will take care of itself.  What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? iPhone.  What is your favorite app? Wordle, though not an app yet!  What is your go-to source of news and information? WSJ, Google.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? My husband and Pinterest!  What company or organization do you most admire? Biotech companies.  They change people’s lives.    

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Making DEI a business priority.  

What mega-trend most concerns you? Division of people/politics.  What world event has had the greatest influence on your life? The pandemic, which caused me to reexamine my purpose and priorities.

What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Amy Adams.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in Heaven? My Grandma.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A teacher.  What object would you save first from your burning home? Pictures.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Visiting my family, which is very geographically dispersed – Minnesota, New Zealand, Phoenix, Rhode Island, Florida.  What advice would you give your younger self? Believe in yourself and be yourself!  What period in your life would you do differently if you could? My twenties.
