Current project: Expanding Mako Medical’s high-tech liquid handling automation systems and lab space to increase our testing capacities.  Recent recognition: Mako Medical was recently selected by Forbes as one of America’s best startup employers.  Latest accomplishment: Mako Medical has validated a PCR-based monkey-pox specific assay developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific.  Latest contribution to others: Mako Medical donated $10,000 to the Vance County Public School Foundation  for the 2022-2023 school year to support Learning that Extends Actual Performance (LEAP) Grants.

Personality profile: Focused, passionate, disruptive.  Moral compass: Faith-driven.  How do you define an ideal business relationship? Trust and mutual commitment.  What is your greatest joy? Family.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Visiting Israel.  

What was your first paying job? Chief Marketing Officer at Cary Reconstruction.  What book have you repeatedly read? Half Time: Moving from Success to Significance, by Bob Buford. What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A reminder to never give up! What’s the best advice you received growing up? No one gets to the top without stumbling over some hurdles.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Follow up and follow through. What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? Direct-to-consumer healthcare. What is your favorite app? Voice memo.

Build a better patient experience through timely results and personalized care.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? Build a team that is laser focused on the same mission.  What change would you like to see in the world? Seeing people work together even if they have distinct differences.  What message do you want to send out into the world? Remain determined but don’t be afraid to evolve.  

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? God and Google.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? An entrepreneur.  What advice would you give your younger self? You don’t need to be everything to everyone.  What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? None. Everything that has happened has led me to where I am today.
