Character is what you do when no one is watching.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Focus on building things that last longer than you do.  What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? The loss of my wife, which sharpened my focus on what truly matters.

Bridging venture capital and philanthropy to accelerate breakthroughs in health and longevity.

What change would you like to see in the world? More equitable access to life-extending healthcare innovations.  What message do you want to send out into the world? Measure success by the positive impact you have on others.  What mega-trend most excites you? The convergence of biotechnology and AI.  What mega-trend most concerns you? Widening inequality in access to cutting-edge healthcare.

Matthew McConaughey.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? An engineer and inventor.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? A journal where I’ve recorded personal reflections and lessons.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? With my children, by the ocean, reflecting on life and love.
