Home: Delray Beach, FL. Age: 40. Profession: Real estate executive. Alma mater: University of Florida (I BLEED orange and blue!).
Current project: C-suite executive for the largest telecom infrastructure company in the US, real estate investor and boy mom. Recent recognition: University of Florida 40 Under 40. Recent professional development: Surpassed $30 billion in closed real estate and corporate transactions. Latest accomplishment: Making it out of the house on time with two boys under two and matching shoes. What’s been your big (or biggest) leap? Starting my own real estate investment business as a mom of three and full-time C-suite executive. Last book read: Halftime, by Bob Buford. Secret power: Self-proclaimed tailgate MVP and curator of elite playlists.
Personality profile: Authentic, humble, fun, socially conscious, ENFJ and Enneagram three wing two. What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Good energy. What is your greatest joy? My kids. What is your guilty pleasure? Texas Toast croutons. What natural talent have you neglected? Dancing. I love a good routine and I’m usually the first one on the dance floor, but these days my audience is my kids and my dog, Sniffles.
How do you relieve stress? Prayer, meditation and working out. What is something few people know about you? I am the Coral Shores High School lip-sync champion.
What was your first paying job? Blockbuster Video. “Be Kind. Please Rewind.” (If that phrase means something to you, congratulations, we’re both showing our age.) What book have you repeatedly read? A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle, and Wishes Fulfilled, by Wayne Dyer. What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsburg that states, “Fight for the things you care about.” What’s the best advice you received growing up? Be humble. What’s the best advice you received in your career? The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit. What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? Growing up in the Florida Keys taught me authenticity beats perfection, experiences beat possessions and a little salt air can solve most problems. What is your theme song? “My Way,” by Frank Sinatra.
What is your big idea? Be still. The best ideas emerge in quiet moments. Giving ideas room to breathe and grow is more effective than trying to force goals and plans across the finish line. What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? Being a genuine champion for the success of others—even competitors. Approaching business from abundance rather than scarcity creates more opportunities for learning, growth and success for everyone. What change would you like to see in the world? A world in which people realize that fulfillment is not found in titles, wealth or accomplishments, but in conscious presence, meaningful connection and service to something greater than themselves. What widely held belief do you reject? The hardest workers are the most successful. The people logging the most hours aren’t necessarily the ones who rise to the top. The ones who work smarter, not harder, are.
What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Good Energy. What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Amy Schumer. Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Jesus. After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? My journal. How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? On the beach, surrounded by family and friends. What advice would you give your younger self? Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business. Dream big, take risks and don’t wait for permission to live the life that’s calling you. What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? Absolutely nothing. My life has been “brutifal” and every chapter mattered.
Personal mission: Make every room I walk into and every person I meet better than how I found them. Use my resources and energy to spread love, joy and kindness and inspire others to live without fear, judgment and worry. Personal motto: It’s a very short life. There’s no reason not to go after what sets your soul on fire. Favorite quote: “I shall pass this way but once; any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again” (frequently attributed to Étienne de Grellet). Desired epitaph: She was full of life and soul.
