Current project: Volunteering in the recovery community.  Recent professional development: FAA-certified flight instructor renewal.  Latest contribution to others: Volunteering at the Madison Church of Christ Food Pantry.  Hobbies: Biking, paddleboarding, attending grandchildren’s events.

Personality profile: Open-minded and teachable.  What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Dedicated.  Moral compass: Do unto others as you’d want done unto you. What is your greatest joy? My children living their best lives.  What word or phrase do you use far too often? It’ll be what it’ll be.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Sports broadcasters.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Attend the British Open, Wimbledon and the Tour de France.  How do you relieve stress? Meditation.

What was your first paying job? Washing police cars in my hometown.  What was your favorite childhood toy or game? Stretch Armstrong.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.  Besides your parents, who has had the greatest influence on your life? My youngest child.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? It takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? Never give up.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Education on advancing automation technologies in aviation and aviation support roles.

What change would you like to see in the world? Don’t believe the first thing you read.  What message do you want to send out into the world? Thinking of others first solves many situations. What mega-trend most concerns you? Unmonitored artificial intelligence.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Alan’s Life: As It Happened.  What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Kevin Costner.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? My dad.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A policeman.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? The animals.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Sunrise and sunset with my grandchildren, doing whatever they wanted to do in between.  What day in your life would you choose to re-live? The last day I saw my dad.
